Santorini is one of the most recognisable islands on planet earth. This island can offer you exclusive panoramas, sunsets and volcanic-sand beaches. It is the Greek Island with the most busy during summer. We’ve been in Santorini long time ago, before Covid-19, and the island was overcrowded.
If you are planning to visit Santorini again, now is the best time to do it. The island is not that busy, and you get to enjoy the best spots for your self. If you only have few hours in Santorini like we did, then this blog post will be very helpful. SANTORINI BEST THINGS TO DO AND SEE
So you only have few hours in Santorini . Here is what you need to do!
FIRST STOP: OIA , SANTORINI
Best Instagrammable place in Santorini. The most well known instagram spot in Santorini & all over Greece ! Just 25 minutes drive from Fira, this little village is the one you must visit, if you only have few hours in Santornii , in order to find the 2 most Instagrammable spots of the island. One of them is the blue does of Anastasis Church of Oia, Santorini. This shot, will take some time to capture it. There is always some waiting time there, but is totally worth it. Also it is kind of tricky to frame the view, so try to super extend your tripod to take this one!

The second must spot you should visit if you only have few hours in Santorini, is: The Kastro Oia Houses of Santorini. We are still editing this photo and soon we will publish on our Instagram Channel. You’ve probably seen it all over Instagram and Google. The orange hued hotel is so picturesque that makes it one of the most popular shots to take Santorini pictures! It is an incredibly easy shot, and will only take you 3 – 5 attempts to shoot it!

NOT ENOUGH TIME IN SANTORINI, WHAT TO DO NEXT
So you took the 2 most instagrammable photos of Santorini in the morning, and you are ready to start exploring it! As soon as you finish from Oia, most probably during lunch time, you go straight to Glyfada Area to the Best Fish Tavern of Santorini with amazing views. The name of the tavern is called “To Psaraki” and the location is here: To Psaraki Santorini. Get ready to experience the best tavern ever. For starters we got the: Fried filo cheese rolls with fig sauce, the fried squid, grilled octopus, grilled sardines stuffed with herbs, Santorini Fava, Tzatziki & Greek Salad. For main we shared Sea Food orzo pasta with saffron and herbs, and for dessert the Greek Baklava.
As soon as you finish, you can go straight to Fira. There you can enjoy your Greek Coffee, at any of the cafes on the left side of the hill, so you can enjoy the beautiful Caldera Views! The one we chose to have ours, was La Scala Cafe. Exact Location here: Location
Finally, and last destination to enjoy in Santorini if you only have few hours in the island is: Imerovigli! Imerovigli is the second favorite for us , after Oia. It is a place that can even be switched with Oia. So if you want to avoid the crowds of Oia, you can go straight to Imerovigli. Our best place to enjoy the views from Imerovigli, is the famous Buddha Bar Sunset Lounge Bar. The exact location of the bar is here. A bit pricey, but the cocktails are incredibly tasteful! Also if you are a shisha lover like us, then you should take one as well! Last but not least, the music! Omg, the the exotic music sounds are so relaxing & the views, making it the only bar in Santorini with the best atmosphere & ambience. Cozy, casual, but with a dash of luxury this is a must if you have few hours in Santorini.
FINAL THOUGHTS ABOUT SANTORINI
Santorini is an island you must visit asap. Especially this year 2021, or even the next. Due to the pandemic, the island is not that crowded, making it a good opportunity for people that love to take best instagrammable places in Santorini photos!
If you chose a cruise and only have few hours in Santorini, then this is the best itinerary. If you are about to visit the island on your own, then we would definitely suggest you to stay for at least 4 nights! We did both. During our 4 night stay in Santorini, we also rented a car and explored the whole island! There are so many things to explore especially their beaches. Due to the volcano in the area, their beaches are so interested. They have white beaches, red beaches, black and goes on and on. It is definitely one of the best greek island for its views and totally worth it to visit once in your life. Even if its for few hours!
It is a bit touristy although. For us since we went to Santorini back in 2010, we never want to return back. Unlike Mykonos that we want to go almost every year. The why we won’t return to this beautiful island with the most amazing views in Greece, is simply because the island feels sooo touristy. From the souvenirs shops to most of the restaurants (not the specific ones mentioned on this blog post).
