REVIEW OF GRAND HYATT GREECE
Parthenon views and a rooftop pool!

What can one expect of the surrounding neighborhood?
The Grand Hyatt Hotel Athens is located on Syngrou Avenue, a busy thoroughfare known for its offices and strip clubs. While the street may not be the most attractive in the city, we found the hotel’s location to have some benefits. It was within easy driving distance of central Syntagma Square and the port of Piraeus, and it was also just steps away from the Onassis Cultural Centre, which offered a variety of exhibitions, festivals, and performances. The nearest metro station, Syngrou/Fix, was also just a short distance from the hotel.
Additionally, the hotel offered a free shuttle bus for all residents that went from the hotel to Syntagma Square every 30 minutes, making it easy for us to explore the city. While the surrounding neighborhood may not have been the most picturesque, the hotel’s convenient location and proximity to popular attractions made it a convenient choice for us.
What to expect from the room?
During our stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Athens, we were impressed by the spacious and well-appointed rooms. They were designed to provide maximum comfort and convenience, with contemporary decor and high-quality furnishings, including plush beds with plush bedding and pillows. We also appreciated the modern amenities, such as flat-screen TVs with cable channels, minibars, and coffee makers.
In addition to the standard amenities, the hotel also offers a variety of room types to suit your needs. They have many options including city or Acropolis views, as well as rooms with balconies or terraces. There were also rooms designed to accommodate families or groups, with extra beds and/or bunk beds.
We recently learned that the Grand Hyatt Hotel Athens is in the process of expanding and adding more rooms to the property. These new rooms will offer breathtaking views of the Parthenon and will also feature private pools. We are excited to see how these new rooms will enhance the guest experience at the hotel and look forward to providing a review of them in the future. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see the finished product and experience the luxurious amenities and service that the Grand Hyatt is known for.

How about the restaurants?
During our stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Athens, we had the pleasure of dining at the hotel’s restaurant, the Grand by Interni. This restaurant, which is inspired by its sister restaurant, the famous Interni Restaurant of Mykonos, focuses on top-quality ingredients and seasonal products, and offers a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine that was truly delightful. The exotic touches in the restaurant’s interiors, combined with the state-of-the-art design and the natural elements, such as the winter garden, created a unique and energetic atmosphere.
We decided to order a variety of dishes to get a taste of the menu, and we were not disappointed. We started with a tasty green salad and then moved on to a succulent steak and a bowl of delicious spaghetti. For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying the decomposed mille-feuille, which was a perfect combination of flavors and textures. We also asked the bar to prepare some special mocktails for us, since we didn’t want alcoholic drinks, and they were happy to accommodate us. The mocktails were very nice, with a refreshing mastiha flavor.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the food and drinks we ordered at the Grand by Interni. The prices were also very reasonable, considering the high quality of the food and the excellent service we received. We would definitely recommend this restaurant, which is inspired by its sister restaurant in Mykonos, to other travelers.

What about the quality of service and facilities?
During our stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Athens, we were consistently impressed by the high level of service provided by the hotel’s staff and the wide range of amenities that were available to us. While we did enjoy the rooftop pool and bar, which offered breathtaking views of the city, we actually preferred the indoor pool in the basement. This pool was so calming, with ambient light, relaxed music, and facilities like a sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room.
Overall, the service of the hotel was professional, but we did find it to be a bit slow and simple at times. Despite this, we were still very satisfied with our experience at the Grand Hyatt and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in the heart of the city.
Our final thoughts
In conclusion, the Grand Hyatt Hotel Athens is a top-notch choice for travelers looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in the heart of the city. From the stunning views of the Acropolis and the city skyline, to the spacious and well-appointed rooms, to the delicious food and drinks at the Grand by Interni, to the wide range of facilities and services available, there is something for everyone at this modern hotel. We were consistently impressed by the high level of service provided by the hotel’s staff, and we would highly recommend the Grand Hyatt to anyone looking for a lavish and enjoyable stay in the capital of Greece.
