Thalassino Ageri, the best restaurant in Chania. Where to start from? First of all the location. In the historic area of Tabakaria, just 5 minutes drive from Chania, at the most scenic environment ever. Tabakaria are now considered the most finest and exclusive districts of Chania, within walking distance from the Old Port of Chania. It is definitely considered an Instagrammable place as well.

Now let’s talk about food! OMG! The freshest FISH EVER! Quality ingredients, from local suppliers. And a lot of variety to choose from. We made a reservation for 2 but ordered food for 4! :P
LETS TALK ABOUT PRICES IN THIS TAVERN
The recipe of this chania best restaurant is in Greek so we will translate you everything in the same order. So first of all the bread, some wild and very delicious greens with the virgin oil and fresh lemon. Then the white Taramas (fish roe), the cretan salad with the cretan crackers. And those are the starters. After that we had the option to order either frozen or fresh fish. So of course we chose the fresh fried Calamari, the fresh Cod with some fresh fries and of course fresh octopus and sardines! The difference in price between the fresh and the frozen fishes were about 2-3 euros. And the rest are our drinks.
The food was super delicious and super fresh. We’ve traveled a lot , and we also live in an Island, however, trust us, this is the first time in our life that we ate really FRESH fish. And the prices as you can clearly see, are super affordable. If you could order exactly the same dishes at any other fish tavern in Cyprus, or Mykonos, or Santorini, you would most probably pay double or triple the price! :P Right?
