HOW TO GET TO SYMI ISLAND
If you’re looking for a beautiful and relaxing daytrip destination, then the island of Symi is the perfect choice. Located just a short ferry ride from Rhodes, Symi offers stunning natural beauty, charming villages, and a rich history. To get to Symi, we recommend using Sebeco Lines, as they offer affordable and reliable ferry services. A round trip costs just 34 euros per person, and the ferry ride is only about 1 hour and 20 minutes long. On board, you’ll be offered a free bottle of water, and the ferry is clean and safe, with measures in place to protect against COVID-19. Plus, the website makes it easy to buy tickets and check in online. Once you arrive in Symi, you’ll have a full day to explore the island and enjoy all that it has to offer. Whether you want to relax on the beach, hike through the countryside, or visit historic sites, Symi has something for everyone.
You can find the website here: Sebeco Lines. The ferry leaves from Rhodes’ small port which you can find the exact location here: Kolona Harbor

BEST THINGS TO DO IN SYMI IN 1 DAY
If you’re planning a day trip to Symi, then the best way to experience the island is to explore the picturesque harbour area of Yialos. The harbour of Symi is truly one of a kind, with its colorful, traditional neoclassical buildings. A nice, short walk along the waterfront will allow you to see the beautiful fish taverns, the luxurious superyachts docked at the port, the charming sponge shops, and the cozy cafes. Be sure to visit the Clock Tower, which is based on the design of London’s Big Ben. You can also walk up the Kali Strata stairs to the old village of Chorio and enjoy some of the best views of Symi Harbour.
Before leaving Symi, be sure to enjoy a delicious meal on the island. If you’re only visiting for a day trip, consider taking the last ferry back to Rhodes so you have time to savor a truly unforgettable meal. We stayed on the island for three days and tried several restaurants, but we can only recommend one: the seaside fish tavern Kavos Restaurant. We ordered the famous Symian little prawns (garidaki), a Greek salad, grilled octopus, white taramas, and fried calamari. It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had, and our table had a stunning view of the sea. We were literally right next to the water!

WHERE TO STAY IN SYMI
In addition, if you are considering to stay in Symi , then you will have the time to explore the island and visit the following places:
Ais-Giorgis Disalonas (beach), Marathounta Beach and of course the Sacred Monastery of Saint Archangel Michael the Panormitis.
During our trip to Symi Island, we stayed at Marika’s Deluxe Rooms which are located at Symi Harbour area, at the best spot. Our room was spacious and beautiful for the asked price. Specifically their prices start from 100 euros per night, depending of course from which month you are visiting the island. You can book them via booking.com through this link: Markias Deluxe Rooms. And yes, on the picture is the view from our room veranda!
