2 – 3 DAYS IN MALTA

Best Itinerary for Malta.

DAY 1 :  Valletta – Marsaxlokk – St Peters Pool – Blue Grotto – Mdina – Popeye Village

For your first day in Malta we will definitely suggest you to start the day with Valletta where you can visit the Upper Barrakka Gardens, and enjoy the beautiful sunrise! After that you should definitely explore the little streets of Valletta and the iconic Grand Harbour Hotel and the beautiful street where Lancel Salon Barber is. TIP: since you will arrive early in the morning , it will be easier for you to find parking for your car. Oh , car is a MUST in Malta! Make sure to read this article before renting one, so that you don’t be scammed as we did. Click to find out here –> Car Rental Scam in Malta.

As soon as you finish your little exploration Valletta, you must take your car and go to Marsaxlokk & St.Peters Pool. Both are close to each other and you will be amazed by the beautiful pictures that your eyes will witness in both places. Marsaxlokk is a small traditional fishing village, a beautiful place to enjoy a Mediterranean meal by the sea. While the St Peters Pool is like a pool constructed by nature!

The next stop is Blue Grotto ViewPoint an amazing experience. If you are from Cyprus, then this will remind you of, Bridge of Love in Ayia Napa, but much BIGGER! You will only need 20 minutes here to enjoy the view.

Mdina city, is the next stop! If you are a Game of Thrones fan, then this place is a MUST VISIT IN MALTA. Get ready to witness one of the most beautiful castles in the world. The experience is once in a lifetime.

Finally the last destination will be the Popeye Village. Especially if you have small kids , then you should consider entering the village. But make sure to arrive early as the village is open until 5:30. Otherwise if you are like us, the you should definitely  visit the ViewPoint of Popeye Village and enjoy the amazing views.

That’s all of your first day in Malta! Now it’s time for rest & food :)

DAY 2: Blue Hole Gozo – Wied il-Ghaesri  – Salt Pans – Tigne Point Valletta

Good morning is day number 2! Take your car and head to Comino Ferries . This is where you will go with your car and take a ferry to Gozo island! Don’t worry about tickets, you don’t pay at that time. You will pay just before your return from Gozo to Malta!  Ticket for 1 person & a car is 15.70 euros. And for the rest people the ticket is 4.65 euros.

First stop the the Blue Hole ViewPoint. There are no words to describe how beautiful this place is.  You should visit this location as soon as possible as it gets windy during midday.  Expect to stay at this location for at least 30 minutes.

After that you should drive to Wied il-Ghaesri. This place reminds us of Seitan Limani in Chania, Crete! A must visit while in Malta! It’s also an ideal location to swim if you are visiting Malta in summer!

Finally last stop in Gozo island are the Salt Pans . If you have a drone with you, then this is your place to make some flights ! The view from top is incredible!

As soon as you finish with all locations mentioned above you can head back to Malta and specifically to the last must visit point the Tigne Point for a romantic sunset with the best view in Malta.

is 3 days enough in malta

So if you followed our itinerary by now and you still have a full day (3rd day in Malta), you should definitely consider visiting Comino island. Especially during summer, Comino island is a must visit for long swims! Otherwise, if you have not manage to visit all the above mentioned locations, you should definitely , visit the rest of them during your 3rd day in Malta. Small note, we visited Malta during end of March, when the island is not crowded.
