Some important things to know before travelling to Egypt are :
There are a few important things you should know before planning a trip to Cairo in 2022. First, you will need to obtain a visa to enter the country. The cost is 25 dollars per person, and you can apply for a visa online through the Egyptian government’s website. It typically takes up to a week for applications to be processed, so make sure to apply at least two weeks before your planned trip.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Egyptian government also requires all visitors to have Overseas Medical Insurance. If you don’t already have a policy, you may want to consider purchasing one from a reputable provider, such as Revolut Metal. In addition to a valid visa and medical insurance, you will also need to complete two forms before arriving in Cairo: a Declaration Form, which you can find online, and an Immigration Form, which you will receive on the plane.
Once you arrive at Cairo Airport, make sure to have your passport, Safe-Pass, and any other necessary documents with you. It’s also a good idea to purchase a SIM card from Orange, as they have the best coverage in the city. Finally, while it may be tempting to rent a car, driving in Cairo can be challenging, so you may want to consider using Uber or other ride-sharing services instead.
